Castro Valley Unified School District Thanks Community Following Measure B Election

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — Castro Valley Unified School District thanks the Castro Valley community for participating in the election regarding Measure B, the District’s proposed $212 million school facilities bond measure.

According to the Alameda County Registrar of Voters' latest election results, Measure B received 51.95% voter approval, falling short of the 55% threshold required for passage under California law.

“We appreciate every member of our community who took the time to learn about Measure B and participate in the election process,” said Superintendent Dr. Nia Rashidchi. “Although the measure was not approved, the facility needs identified through our Facilities Master Plan remain, and we will continue to explore responsible ways to address those needs in support of our students and schools.”

Measure B would have provided $212 million in locally controlled funding to modernize aging facilities, improve safety and security systems, upgrade infrastructure, and support educational programs and services through enhanced learning environments.

The District’s Facilities Master Plan identified significant facility needs across school sites and support facilities. District leadership and the Board of Education will review the election results and continue evaluating long-term options for addressing these priorities, while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

The District remains grateful for the community’s continued support of public education and its ongoing commitment to the success of Castro Valley students.
